Build your own Larp safe weapon claws.

Foam used should be weapon foam, aka plastazote, aka LD45, aka medium density polyethylene closed cell foam.
Gloves should be fairly sturdy, not made of a stretchy material (ideally leather, eg gardening gloves), and fit fairly well. The gloves should not fly off if you shake your hands violently.
This design allows for some finger mobility, but if you form a fist, the claws fold back against your palm, rendering them useless. This conforms to the current LT claw standard. I do not suggest you claw the thumbs, you will lose a large amount of manual dexterity if you do. If you decide to ignore me and do it anyway, go for a smaller thumb claw, as you will lose less mobility. See the general weapon walkthrough for more general info on weapon building [link].

The lower strip should not be carved to much, since its glue-line will give the claw a lot of it's rigidity.

Now latex any colour you want, or cover them in fur, or scales, or whatever. They are your claws now.

Another option for increased durability, is to add a flange to the fingertip area on the lower strip, shown below. This gives greater peel resistance, and the claws will take heavier punishment before coming apart.
